(Dec 2015/May 2016)
Different works linked to the hexagonal shape through several topics (14/15 years old)
- To have fun with Maths, Arts, ICT and English
Work's steps:
Activity
1 : About me
We match pupils, so that each
pupil has one or more penfriends, depending on the total number of pupils in
both countries.
Each pupil creates a personal presentation about 6
different topics (who I am ; what I look like ; my family ; what I am like; my hobbies ; when I'm older), then
these texts are inserted into an hexagonal pattern created using Geogebra.
Activity
2 : About our schools/areas
Pupils present their schools through photos or videos.
Real postcards are sent to partners to make discover
our respective areas (each pupil writes a short text on the postcard and sticks
a picture of himself/herself).
Pupils take some
short videos of themselves in their favorite place of their respective towns,
and all videos are gathered together by their teachers.
Activity
3 : Drawing contest (creation of a logo)
The pupils drawings will be posted on the Twinspace
In each country, pupils will vote their three
favourite partners drawings, and vice versa (votes using a Google form).
Winners in both countries are awarded.
Activity
4 : On the tracks of the hexagon
Pupils work in groups about these topics:
1) Vocabulary
linked to 2D and 3D shapes (lessons + exercises in English)
2) Hexagon in Maths (creation of videos about different properties of
the hexagon)
Pupils could use Geogebra and
a recorder to film the different steps of their explanations.
3) Hexagon in Nature/Sciences
4) Hexagon in Arts/Architecture
Activity
5 : Our transnational quiz
For this activity, some transnational groups are built
with pupils from both countries.
Each group finds some questions in order to create a
transnational quiz about the hexagon.
Pupils can use some forums created on the twinspace to
communicate.
Bonus
Activities
1) Christmas celebration
Pupils prepare a poster all
together, writing Christmas wishes for the partners, and explaining our
Christmas traditions.
2) Easter
celabration
Pupils will send personalized Easter cards to their
penfriends, explaining our Easter traditions and will join little personal surprises.
3) Possible fieldtrips in each country
Expected results:
- To have fun with Maths, Arts, ICT and English
- Encouragement of pupils
- Improvement of the communication between the pupis
