Triangles are everywhere

Description:
Project about triangles around us in Maths, Sciences, Arts, etc ... (12/13 years old)


Work's steps: 

From October to December 2012 : OUR PUPILS

a) Each pupil introduces himself
- Each pupil creates a page with his photo and a small text in English.
- All these pages will be put together into a Powerpoint presentation. On the group photo of the class you will be able to click on zones linked to each pupil’s page.
- Furthermore each pupil will read aloud his presentation and it will be recorded and placed in the Twinspace.

b) Our school, our area
- The school will be presented in English and photos will be added.
- Then we will send real postcards to our partners.

c) Exchange between pupils
- A forum will be created on the Twinspace, the pupils will write messages in English to their eTwinning friends.
- Depending on the number of pupils each of them will have a penfriend.

d) Christmas cards

e) Drawing contest on the topic : Triangles
The pupils ‘drawings will be posted on the Twinspace. The Romanian pupils will vote for their three favourite French drawings and their three favourite Polish drawings, and vice versa (votes through the forum).



From January to May 2013 :  TRIANGLES ARE AROUND US

 a) Vocabulary linked to triangles (lessons + exercises in English)

b) Photo contest
- The pupils must choose and take a photo of a triangular shape that you can find in our environment (beware : each pupil must appear on the photo himself or ask a friend to appear on this photo)
A short text in English will be added to the photo.
- The Romanian pupils will vote their favourite French photo and their favourite Polish photo (votes through the forum) and vice versa.
- After the contest a display of the photos will take place and all the pupils at school will have the opportunity to vote their favorite picture. The winner will get a prize.

c) Triangles in Music/Arts : Construction of a presentation  by the pupils

d) Triangles in Sciences : Construction of a presentation  by the pupils

e)  Easter cards



Expected results:
- To have fun with Maths and English
- To improve the communication between the pupils in French, English and Maths
- To use the triangle's shape to create links between Maths and several subjects
- To show pupils how universal the mathematical language is
- To use ICT to build several ways of communication between pupils
- To encourage the pupils
